Ingredients

We take pride in all of the ingredients that we use in our skincare products so here is a list explaining each and ever one of them.

Bee-inspired skincare has been making waves in the beauty industry, drawing on the incredible properties of honey, beeswax, and propolis. These natural ingredients are known for their moisturizing, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory benefits. Honey, for instance, is a humectant that attracts and retains moisture, making it perfect for hydrating dry skin. Beeswax creates a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and protecting against environmental pollutants.  Additionally, propolis, a resin-like material produced by bees, has powerful antimicrobial properties that can help heal and soothe irritated skin. Incorporating these bee-derived ingredients into your skincare routine can lead to healthier, more radiant skin while also supporting sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

Raw Honey

We go through extreme lengths to provide the purest, cleanest and best tasting raw honey for you! Collected from local fynbos and eucalyptus which is located in a remote area in the Breed valley mountains with no commercial farming in the area of collection thus minimising exposure to pesticides.

Honey is used as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial agent when consumed internally.

We use honey internally and externally for our skin. It works wonders naturally.

Benefits of honey in skincare
  • Honey is a natural exfoliator and humectant, keeping your skin looking plump, fresh and hydrated.
  • The antimicrobial, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties of honey ensure your skin and pores are free of dirt, blackheads, excess oil and acne-causing bacteria.
  • High levels of antioxidants protect your skin from free-radical damage, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scarring, and boost collagen production.
  • Honey heals wounds, reduces inflammation and helps treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

If you’re looking for natural skincare that works, honey-based cosmetics could well be the answer.

Fynbos Beeswax

It naturally forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, protecting your skin from environmental irritants and harsh weather. Beeswax is particularly exceptional being non-comedogenic (non-pore blocking), allowing the skin to breathe freely. This makes it particularly beneficial for acne-prone, eczema, and sensitive skin.

Beeswax has fantastic skin-softening properties and enhances skin elasticity, helping reduce the signs of ageing.

Lastly, beeswax is anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and germicidal. These properties make beeswax a highly stable base ingredient, thus extending the product’s life. But importantly, this makes beeswax particularly beneficial for those with sensitive skin as beeswax will unlikely cause skin irritation.

Propolis

It is one of the only substances in the world, scientists say, known to contain nearly all of the vitamins and nutrients needed to sustain life. Is contains over 3000 beneficial compounds.

Unlike honey, Propolis is derived from the sap of coniferous trees, such as pine and hemlock trees, which never lose their leaves.

Bees are able to convert this sap into a sticky resin.

The bees then use the Propolis like a glue, or concrete, to hold their hive together, to keep it sterile and free of any sicknesses. They also use propolis as medicine to keep them healthy.

The benefits of using propolis are endless.

  • Fights against bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

  • Speeds up the wound-healing process.

  • Stimulates cellular regeneration.

  • Helps skin retain more moisture to maintain a healthier, more vibrant complexion.

  • Smoothens out wrinkles and has antiaging properties.

  • Supports the skin’s natural barrier function.

  • Provides protection against environmental irritants.

  • Protect and rejuvenate your skin while keeping it looking younger and blemish-free.

Raw Unrefined Shea Butter

We use shea butter in most of our body butters and creams. There is a reason for that! Shea butter is a natural product that comes from the nut of the Shea Tree. It has been used for centuries for its moisturising and healing properties.

We source our raw unrefined shea butter from a rural cooperative in Ghana. The cooperative is for women who want to work and improve quality of life for themselves and their family.

Our raw unrefined shea butter is fair trade and organic certified.

What’s the difference between refined and unrefined shea butter?

Unrefined or raw shea butter has all of the nutrients and vitamins that makes shea butter so great, but it also has a very thick, grainy and hard to spread texture that actually makes it pretty difficult to use.

Refined shea butter, on the other hand, has a smooth and creamy texture that’s easy to spread all over the skin but during the refining process, it loses many of its vitamins and nutrients.

This reason why we prefer raw unrefined shea butter is because if its benefits:
