Very easy to start seeds indoors and outdoors. Didnt notice a difference between transplant and direct sow. Very low maintenance. For those planted in shade with half day sunlight and less, I stopped watering them once established.They did ok with the amount of the rain we get this winter. Comparing to the other with full sun exposure, they definitely bloom later and less though. If to plant in ground, do not fertilize. The one I planted next to the rose bush, which I fertilized regularly, grew very tall with too many leaves instead of buds. I have been enjoying the blooms since late December. Really bring some bright yellow and orange colors to lighten the mood in winter. Terrible cut flowers because of dropping petals and sticky stems. With the current temperature rising to the 80s, definitely saw a decline in blooms. Also noticed powdery mildew on the leaves. Next year, I want to try more varieties.
